About

I grew up in Elmore, Vermont going on long adventure skis in the woods with my friends and family. As a junior skier, I joined the Craftsbury Nordic Ski Club and began to do more training and racing. After finishing high school, I attended Bowdoin College where I skied all four years, qualified twice for NCAAs, and studied biology, environmental studies, and visual art. After graduating in 2014, I joined the Craftsbury Green Racing Project, an elite ski team based out of the Craftsbury Outdoor Center in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom. In exchange for the support we receive, team members help with a variety of projects, general work, and sustainability initiatives at the Outdoor Center. I've enjoyed gardening, helping coach the mountain bike club, organizing the weekly summer citizens races, and  working on various ecological monitoring and nature-related outreach projects. To read more about the team you can check out our website and our blog

I am excited to be starting my sixth year with Craftsbury. Career highlights include a classic sprint national title in 2016, 5 US National podiums, 7 US Ski and Snowboard SuperTour wins, 31 World Cup starts, and being named to the 2018 Olympic Team. In addition to training and racing, I enjoy canoeing, hiking, knitting, and painting. My goal with this blog is to share my ski-related endeavors and also to document my artistic undertakings. Some of my artwork and knitting projects are for sale on my Etsy site, KaitsVTCreations.
